Draymond Green's MRI results came back negative after sustaining a knee injury late in the third quarter of the Golden State Warriors 122-121 season-opening loss to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.

The reigning Defensive Player of the Year landed awkwardly during a drive to the basket, clearly grimacing as he took the last two free-throws and limped back on defense as the quarter expired.

Green sat out the fourth quarter, as team doctors played it careful, watching from the sidelines while his team blew a 13-point lead during the period.

“I'll be good. I'm fine,” Green told ESPN after the game, as he walked gingerly out of the locker room.

His status for Friday's game against New Orleans is doubtful after nearing a triple-double during Tuesday's outing (nine points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists).

New Orleans will be the first stop on a three-game road trip for Golden State. The team is also dealing with injuries to Andre Iguodala; who sat out the season opener, as well as Omri Casspi, who tweaked his ankle during the game.

If Green misses time, expect rookie Jordan Bell to get the nod, as head coach Steve Kerr likes to experiment with his rookies like he did with James Michael McAdoo in 2015, and most recently Patrick McCaw last season.
