With the recent turmoil that surrounded the team, the Golden State Warriors acknowledge how social media and hot takes fuel controversies in the league. Warriors players say that the verbal altercation issue between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green was already resolved within the team, but it appears that the social media is not yet done making assumptions on it.

Anthony Slater of The Athletic sat down with the defending champs as they discussed how media platforms are prolonging an issue that the Warriors themselves have already moved on from.

“In this locker room, we’re all trying to let it go, he’s trying to let it go,” Shaun Livingston told The Athletic. “But it’s tough when everyone else is trying to keep it going.”

Livingston is referring to Durant, who has been scrutinized by people as ‘sensitive' and ‘soft.' Durant abhors how the media has been doing psychoanalysis, something that the former MVP believes is unfair for they aren't really within the four corners of the team's locker room to know how each player really feels and thinks.

Steph Curry also had an important perspective on how social media has been misinforming people on what really goes on within the constraints of the team.

“The one thing I’ll say is it’s a lot more difficult in terms of people knowing everything,” Steph Curry said. “Misinformation is another thing. With how active as our guys are on social media, it’s hard not to see that stuff.

“But it tests your character, makes you figure out how to compartmentalize stuff. Either you take it as entertainment or you get influenced by it.

With how blown-up this Warriors controversy is, there's no telling when media platforms will finally put an end to the issue. The important thing is how the team bounce back from this, especially with them coming off a three-game losing streak.

The road doesn't get easier for the Warriors as they face the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Portland Trail Blazers this week.
