Getting buckets have always been Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant’s cup of tea. As one of the most prolific and deadliest scorers the NBA has ever seen, Durant is expected to reach several milestones in his career. He even earned one today, when he scored 25 points just before of the end of the first half of Wednesday's game against the L.A. Clippers at Oracle Arena. By doing so, Durant has displaced former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant as the second-youngest player ever to get 20,000 points.

Durant scored his 20,000th point 29 years and 104 days since his birth, younger than when Bryant was 29 years and 122 days old. Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James remains as the youngest ever to make 20,000 points, which he did as part of the Miami Heat back in January of 2013, when he was 28 years and 17 days old.

Apart from being the second-youngest to reach 20,000 points, Durant also became just the fifth member of the under-30, 20,000-points club. He joins James, Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, and Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to rack up that many points before turning 30.

Kevin Durant entered the Clippers game with 19,975 career points. He could have gotten to 20,000 markers earlier had he not missed the Warriors’ last three games with a calf injury. Durant is averaging 25.9 points per game this season on a fantastic 50.1 percent shooting from the field.

Durant will continue to pile up on his career points total this coming Friday, when the Warriors pay Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks a visit at BMO Harris Bradley Center.
