The Golden State Warriors started the series on a strong note with a dominant win in Game 1. However, the Houston Rockets managed to bounce back with an even bigger win in Game 2.

Perhaps the biggest concern was how the Warriors' infamous “Hamptons Five” lineup was rendered useless all game. According to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic, forward Kevin Durant acknowledged that nothing is set in stone against the Rockets:

“No, shit happens,” Durant said. “We're not invincible. We're not the juggernauts of the NBA. We're a good team, but that's a great team on the other end as well…

Durant could likely be doing his best to downplay the kind of dominance they have put on display in recent years. However, it is no secret that Houston is the only team with enough firepower to potentially go toe-to-toe with the defending champs. They certainly proved as much in Game 2 with five players scoring in double figures.

It ultimately proved too much for the formidable lineup of Golden State's four stars plus forward Andre Iguodala. They went -17 during their time together en route to a 127-105 loss. It should be noted that Durant was his usual dominant self in Game 2 as he finished with 38 points on an efficient 13-of-22 shooting.

Unfortunately, he did not have much help from the players that recruited him to Golden State in the Hamptons a few years ago. The rest of the members of the lineup combined to score just 35 points. They will look to take advantage of home court when they return for Game 3 on Sunday.
