The Golden State Warriors and center Kevon Looney have agreed to a three-year, $15 million deal to return to the Bay Area. The Athletic's Shams Charania was first on the news.

Looney Looney, who is entering his fifth year in the NBA, has averaged 4.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game on 59.5 percent shooting from the field in his four-year Warriors career.

The Rockets had expressed interest in Looney over the last several days, but Golden State head coach Steve Kerr had called Looney a ‘foundational centerpiece' for the Warriors, hinting that they would desperately try to hold onto him.

Looney was huge for the Warriors during the 2019 postseason as they dealt with the extended absences of Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins due to injury.
