Golden State Warriors starting shooting guard Klay Thompson tweaked his left ankle Monday night against the Phoenix Suns and was forced to leave the game.
Thompson did not return to the game. The Warriors are calling it a “mild” sprain for Thompson.

It's the fourth game of the year for the Warriors. They're playing the lowly Suns at home. There is absolutely no reason to bring Klay Thompson back into the game if he's not 100 percent. It's safe to say point guard Stephen Curry, small forward Kevin Durant and power forward Draymond Green can handle Phoenix.
Before exiting the game, Klay Thompson had 16 points in 25 minutes of action. The sharpshooter was 6-of-14 from the field, 1-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. He entered the game averaging 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.3 assists.
Klay Thompson will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019. The four-time All-Star has said multiple times he wants to spend his entire career with the Warriors.
Golden State has won back-to-back championships and three of the last four Finals. Klay Thompson, 28, has career averages of 19.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 42.0 percent from 3-point land.
