The Golden State Warriors were outgunned by the Memphis Grizzlies, ending their season in overtime. Stephen Curry scored 39 huge points, but they honestly felt like the hardest 39 points you'll ever see a player work for.

The Grizzlies sent double-teams at him all night, relentlessly trapping the Warriors star to force him to give up the ball. It was a masterclass on how to thwart a team whose entire offense revolves around one man. The game became the biggest endorsement for how much the Dubs truly missed Klay Thompson this season.

Thompson made a bold promise to Warriors fans on his Instagram story after their elimination.

Any true Warriors fan would have given their left pinkie to see Thompson out there fully healthy and playing alongside Stephen Curry against the Grizzlies.

The defense they pulled on Curry would be shattered to bits if Thompson was Steph's outlet to escape the pressure. Klay would have had a field day taking and making uncontested three-pointers all game.

Had they played Curry straight up with a second threat like Klay Thompson on the floor, Steph would have easily broken 50 or even 60 considering how he managed 39 with all defenders draped him.

But alas, Warriors fans will have to wait until next season. Dub Nation is already counting down the days, Klay.
