Ahead of their duel against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone shared that DeMarcus Cousins — his former player — reminds him of Nikola Jokic.

Per Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle, Malone, who coached spent a season and a half as the Sacramento Kings' head coach, said of Cousins:

“He reminds me of Nikola… He can score inside, he can score outside, he can handle the ball, he can make his teammates better. So he'll give them a definite lift when he's able to go out there and play for them.”

Cousins — who's been since January 2018 due to a torn left Achilles tendon — is expected to make his return on Friday against the LA Clippers.

This will mark his debut as a member of the Warriors. For fans, it'll be their first look at probably the most talented starting five in NBA history.

Analysts expect that Cousins will give the Warriors a needed boost. While the Steve Kerr-helmed team is still considered one of the best in the NBA, some have observed that they are not as good as they used were before.

Given Cousins' talent and immense desire to win, expect the Warriors to wreak havoc upon his return.
