Former NBA player Mychal Thompson doesn't see his son, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson, joining the Los Angeles Lakers this summer in free agency.

Klay becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. Mychal played for the Lakers for five seasons and says Laker fans are always coming up to him to tell him that Klay should come to Hollywood and play for the Purple and Gold.

Mychal, however, doesn't see it happening.

“I can’t go anywhere,” Mychal Thompson told Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register. “Ultimately it’s a compliment: Lakers fans want him to play here. But I don’t think that way. I think the Lakers are gonna be fine. I don’t see Klay coming out here as a savior.”

Klay Thompson has won three championships with the Warriors and will probably win his fourth title this season. Why on earth would he leave Golden State to join a Lakers franchise which hasn't made the playoffs since 2013?

Sure enough, Klay would be a tremendous fit next to Lakers small forward LeBron James. Los Angeles has cap space to offer Thompson a max contract this summer, but all signs point toward the Warriors and Klay coming to terms on a new deal once free agency starts on July 1.
