Stephen Curry worked his magic once again to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 115-105 come-from-behind win over the surging Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. The 2-time MVP had it going in the third quarter, dropping 19 points in the period as Golden State turned a 22-point lead into a 6-point deficit heading into the final frame.

Those who constantly watch Dubs games know that Curry takes his customary rest at the start of the fourth quarter before head coach Steve Kerr fields him back in to close the game. However, with the 3-time NBA champ cooking to close the third quarter and leading Golden State's furious rally, the Warriors coaching staff let Curry stay in for a hot minute to start the final period.

Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic:

Kerr chose the present Friday. He chased the win. He coached with urgency. He played Steph Curry the entire third and, because of a scorching 18-2 run led and capped by a Curry 3, he let him start the fourth quarter, a rare move that was suggested by Mike Brown.

“I loved it,” Curry said. “It was a surprise.”

The plan worked. Golden State started the quarter on a 5-0 run. On their second possession, Curry, with the entire Clippers team focusing in on him, found a wide open Damion Lee for a side pocket three that trimmed the lead to a solitary point.

The Warriors eventually gave Curry his rest and fielded in the second unit for a four-minute stretch. The bench mob managed to keep the game afloat and even gave the Dubs the lead. Curry re-entered the game at the 5:15 mark with the Warriors holding a 3-point cushion.

This proved to be more than enough as Golden State closed the game on a 15-8 run down the stretch, highlighted by a dagger step-back triple from Curry over Paul George with a little over a minute left.
