On Thursday night following the Golden State Warriors' 126-113 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Oracle Arena, Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry opened up to the media about the All-Star draft selection process that he and Cleveland Cavaliers star forward LeBron James went through.

On Feb. 18, the 2018 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles will feature Team Stephen vs. Team LeBron, with each roster having five starters and seven reserves.

“The whole thing was just brand new, so it was fun. Me, Bron and some representatives from the league just on the phone going back and forth alternating picks,” Curry said. “I knew going into it what my strategy was going to be, but when you actually commit to a person that you play against who are superstars in this league and all that was a weird kind of vibe.”

Will the draft be televised next year? Curry definitely thinks that will happen.

“Obviously, we've talked about it before a lot, we've talked about televising it and all that stuff. I'm sure we'll work the kinks out and it will be on TV for sure next year,” Curry said.

Although the Warriors have four All-Stars, Curry said that he wishes they were all on the same team this year.

“It would’ve been cool to get everyone on the same team again. But we got four All-Stars,” Curry said. “I’m looking forward to playing against him and see what Team LeBron is all about. It’ll be a cool experience.”

A video of the interview, which was posted to Twitter by Warriors beat writer Mark Medina of The Mercury News, can be viewed below:

James drafted DeMarcus Cousins (New Orleans Pelicans), Anthony Davis (New Orleans), Kevin Durant (Golden State) and Kyrie Irving (Boston Celtics) to join him in the starting lineup.  To complete Team LeBron, James selected LaMarcus Aldridge (San Antonio Spurs), Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards), Kevin Love (Cleveland), Victor Oladipo (Indiana Pacers), Kristaps Porzingis (New York Knicks), John Wall (Washington) and Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder) as reserves.

Curry will start on Team Stephen alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers) and James Harden (Houston Rockets).  For reserves, Curry chose Jimmy Butler (Minnesota Timberwolves), Draymond Green (Golden State), Al Horford (Boston), Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Kyle Lowry (Toronto), Klay Thompson (Golden State) and Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota).
