If all goes as planned, the Golden State Warriors could finally have the long awaited playoff debut of starting point guard Stephen Curry by Tuesday — as hyped by the Splash Brother and the face of the franchise himself.

Their head coach, Steve Kerr, also claimed that Game 2 is indeed within the realm of possibility.

Kerr also clarified to NBA.com that the two-time MVP needs to get some multiple practices on his belt before they could decide on whether he is ready to go.

“Just made the decision based on giving him the extra few days and the fact he only scrimmaged yesterday. You've been out five weeks and we're playing in the playoffs, I don't think one scrimmage is enough, even though he feels great, he wants to play and pleaded his case.”

The Dubs could afford to err on the side of caution here as they have had a comfortable run throughout the postseason thus far, dispatching the aging San Antonio Spurs in five games and picking up where they left off at last night's Game 1 by clobbering the New Orleans Pelicans in a 123-101 rout.

In addition, Curry has had a long chronic history of various injuries, largely out of pedestrian basketball plays too. From simple layups to mistiming his read on passing lanes, it has mostly involved his ankle which he had surgery on in 2011. The injury that sidelined him since March, on the other hand, was an MCL sprain as a result of teammate JaVale McGee falling over backwards to his knee after contesting a shot.

As freaky and unfortunate as that play was, it still hammers in the point home that the Warriors need a healthy Curry to win a championship — so it may be in their best interest to wait and see.
