Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry is embracing the underdog mentality.

With Kevin Durant on the Brooklyn Nets now and Klay Thompson expected to miss the majority of the 2019-20 season recovering from his ACL injury, a lot of people are counting Curry and the Warriors out. The two-time league MVP says it's “nice being the underdog” for a change:

Stephen Curry and the Warriors have been to five straight NBA Finals, winning three and losing two. For the first time since the 2014-15 season, Golden State isn't the favorite to win the title. Some even believe the Warriors might struggle to make the playoffs. Curry and the Dubs are enjoying hearing all the noise right now. It's going to make it that much sweeter when the Warriors shock the world and have a dominant 2019-20 campaign.

Curry could win his third MVP next year. His usage rate is going to be off the charts while Thompson is out. The Warriors did acquire All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell from the Nets. The lefty will be able to take some of the pressure off of Curry's shoulders here and there. But the Dubs are going to go as far as Curry can take them next season. It should be fun to watch the star guard in 2019-20.
