Stephen Curry is already in rarefied air in NBA history. The Golden State Warriors guard has the rare distinction of being a back-to-back NBA MVP, with his second award in 2016 making him the league’s first-ever unanimous MVP winner.

A third trophy would put him in an even more select group that involves some of the game's legends like Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

But as Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports, if you were to give Stephen Curry the option of trading away votes that could potentially help him land a third MVP if it means winning another Warriors championship, he’d happily oblige.

That statement is right on brand with Curry, who is the consummate team player and puts the needs of the Warriors ahead of his own. Come to think of it, he quite possibly might have already done that tradeoff last summer when he signed off on the move to bring Kevin Durant to the Warriors.

Simply put, it’ll be an uphill battle for Stephen Curry to win another MVP again as long as he’s playing alongside Durant, who already won the Finals MVP that Curry has yet to win.

However, that doesn’t seem to matter to Curry as long as it means winning another ring. Hopefully for him, that next ring looks better than the 2015 version so he can at least wear it around a bit more.
