According to Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, Stephen Curry's most underrated quality is his competitiveness.

Kerr joined the Warriors in the summer of 2014 and guided the franchise to five straight NBA Finals and three titles. Curry won two MVPs during that stretch and established himself as the greatest shooter in league history.

On the latest episode of the Runnin' Plays podcast with NBC Sports Bay Area's Logan Murdock, Kerr spoke in-depth about Curry's willingness to win at all costs:

“I think it’s probably Steph’s most underrated quality is just how competitive he is,” the Warriors coach recently said on the Runnin' Plays Podcast. “And I think it’s underrated because of just his physical stature and the way he looks. He’s so different from your average NBA star.

“My first training camp, when we’re scrimmaging, you can see how much it means to a guy to win. And we try to do a lot of competing in practice, and you can see with Steph, any kind of competition he has to win. … My first year, we had an off-day in Minneapolis, we went bowling. He wanted to win so badly. Ping pong, same thing. The guy just, he has to win.”

Kerr was only able to coach Curry five games this season, and he's not expecting to coach any more. The Warriors star broke his left hand in the fourth game of the season and required two surgeries.

In the five games he appeared in, Curry averaged 20.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists for the Warriors. He also shot 40.2 percent from the field, 24.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 100.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Warriors should be playoff contenders next season with Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins leading the charge. The Dubs will also have a top pick in the 2020 draft since they had the worst record in the NBA before the season was suspended due to COVID-19.
