Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors pulled off a Christmas miracle on Wednesday by upsetting James Harden, Russell Westbrook and the Houston Rockets.

In what has been a disastrous season for the Warriors thus far, Kerr says the Dubs' Christmas win over the Rockets was a fun one:

Just how much fun the Warriors were having was evident by their bench celebrations:

While the Warriors have now won three games in a row, they're still on their way to missing the playoffs for the first time in the Kerr era. Golden State, after going to the NBA Finals five straight seasons, is not elite anymore. Stephen Curry is out with a broken hand and Klay Thompson is still rehabbing his ACL tear. Kevin Durant, of course, is gone after signing with the Brooklyn Nets this past summer.

It appears this season for the Warriors is going to be about developing Eric Paschall, Jordan Poole and Ky Bowman. All-Stars D'Angelo Russell and Draymond Green are doing their best as the veteran leaders of the team, and it paid off on Christmas.

Golden State has $129 million and $138 million committed to their four max players of Curry, Thompson, Green and Russell for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, respectively. There has been talk that the Warriors could trade Russell, but so far, everyone inside of the franchise has denied that will happen.
