The Golden State Warriors took two losses to the chin last week, but head coach Steve Kerr is the furthest thing from worried.

The Warriors play-caller dropped some nuggets of truth on what it truly means to build a culture in the NBA — something he helped establish in Golden State more than half a decade ago.

Via Connor Letourneau:

“If you can’t maintain your culture during the down times, then you don’t really have a culture,” asserted Steve Kerr after the Warriors' loss to the Spurs. “It’s just dependent on winning. The culture has to survive losing stretches.”

The Warriors were dealt two losses in a single week for the first time this season. For any ordinary team, that's just a normal week. But the expectations are already so astronomical for the Dubs that these losses have raised a few murmurs, however undeserved they may be.

But Steve Kerr isn't worried one bit, thanks to his belief in the team culture:

“We're 19-4, we've established a two-way dynamic with this team, we've guys who care, who fight for one another… we're in a great place.”

The Golden State Warriors own the best record in the NBA and have an even higher ceiling to reach. A couple of random losses in December change nothing for their title hopes.
