The Golden State Warriors have been one of the most pleasant surprises this season, posting the best record and defensive rating in the NBA at the moment.

Their exciting season could get even better once All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson returns from injury. The Athletic's Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported that Thompson is cleared to fully practice with the team and is on his way to possibly returning around Christmas.

However, before the Warriors' game against the Toronto Raptors, head coach Steve Kerr said that he wasn't aware that Thompson had been cleared to be a full participant in practice, according to ClutchPoints' Mark Haynes.

Thompson's rehabilitation from several injuries — an ACL tear in June of 2019 and an Achilles in November of 2020 — has kept him out of the action for over two years. The five-time All-Star and three-time champion averaged 21.6 points while shooting 42.3 percent from deep on 7.7 three-point attempts per game in the last five seasons he was healthy.

Reinserting the second “Splash Brother” into the lineup should greatly benefit the Warriors, though they already have the second-best offensive rating in the league. With only two other players besides Steph Curry averaging double-digit points per game (Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole), getting one of the greatest high-volume sharpshooters in NBA history back will be a great benefit for Golden State.
