After nearly a full year away from the league, former No. 1 overall pick Andrew Bogut is back in the NBA. And, three games into his second stint with the Golden State Warriors, he is already proving to be a difference-maker in the frontcourt.

In three appearances, Bogut is averaging nearly seven rebounds to go along with about two assists in just under 14 minutes per game.

Bogut's playing days were thought to be over following the 2017-18 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He appeared in just 23 games and had suffered from a litany of injuries the past two seasons.

But the 34-year-old resurrected his career in his home country of Australia, winning the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards in the National Basketball League before agreeing to make one more run at an NBA title with the Warriors.

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr spoke with Tim Kawakami of The Athletic about Bogut's return to the Warriors and what it means for his team:

“I think what you’re seeing is what you see with a lot of guys kind of at the end of their career, when it’s kind of playing with house money,” Kerr said. “It’s like, ‘You know what? Let’s go have fun. Let’s enjoy this.’ And I think he’s playing really freely and enjoying being back here.”

The Warriors have had plenty of success with veteran frontcourt players in the past, including Bogut and David West, who played a vital role coming off the bench in each of Golden State's last two championships.
