The incident between Dillon Brooks and Gary Payton II during Game 2 of the Warriors-Grizzlies series is a major talking point amongst fans. To recap, Brooks hit Payton II with a hard foul during a fastbreak opportunity. The reckless hit caused GP2 to fall badly on his elbow, fracturing it. Dubs fans are still not happy with how the incident played out.

Steve Kerr himself is still not over Dillon Brooks' antics. Ahead of the Warriors' Game 3 matchup against the Grizzlies, the coach called out the Memphis guard in one of his answers. (via 95.7 The Game)

ā€œJust play hard. Battle for every loose ball, battle for every rebound, compete every possession. And, you know, donā€™t risk a guyā€™s career if heā€™s ahead of the play in transition. Thatā€™s our mantra.ā€

An angry Warriors coach is someone you don't want to faceā€¦ especially Kerr.

Kerr has every right to be angry though. Regardless of Brooks' intentions, the guard made a reckless play at the ball against Payton. There are plenty of ways to cleanly chase down a layup attempt without injuring your fellow player. Warriors fans know that all too well. Even Brooks' own teammate Brandon Clarke said that he went way too hard at Payton.

Payton has now been ruled out for the season after fracturing his elbow on the play. The Warriors will have to find a way to contain Ja Morant in this series without their best defenders. What scheme will Kerr concoct for our young star? We'll find out in their next matchup.
