The Golden State Warriors are expected to be title contenders once again with the return of Klay Thompson next season. According to Stephen A. Smith, however, there is one move they can do to be surefire champions: trade for Ben Simmons.

In fact, Stephen A. has a trade proposal in mind to get that done without involving rookie center James Wiseman. In his “Get @ Me” segment on ESPN, the veteran sports analyst and commentator shared his belief that Simmons—with Stephen Curry, Klay, Draymond Green and Wiseman—can help propel the Warriors to win the Larry O'Brien trophy in 2022.

“Best move is to get Klay Thompson healthy. You got Klay Thompson back—with a healthy Steph Curry healthy, a Klay Thompson—that's the best shooting backcourt in the history of basketball. As far as I'm concerned, at least the trip to the conference finals is damn near automatic,” Stephen A. said when asked about the best move the Warriors can do in the offseason

“By the way, Wiseman is going to be good. Keep Draymond, and I’ll tell you if you can, get rid of Wiggins give up a couple of picks and go out there and trade that to Philadelphia for Ben Simmons. Put Ben Simmons in Golden State with Klay and Steph and watch what the hell happens. It would be special. They'd win the chip next year as far as I’m concerned.

For what it's worth, Stephen A. also previously reported that the Warriors are going to make a push for Ben Simmons this offseason. The Aussie playmaker has been in several trade talks as of late after his poor performance for the Philadelphia 76ers during the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

However, it's unlikely the Sixers will be willing to part ways with the former no. 1 pick without a significant return. The Indiana Pacers reportedly offered Malcolm Brogdon and a first-rounder, but Philly declined.

The Warriors' seventh and 14th picks in the 2021 NBA Draft could be enticing for the Sixers, but again, the question is whether that is enough for them to pull the trigger on a simple Wiggins-Simmons swap with picks.

If there is one thing Stephen A. is right, though, it's the fact that a Simmons-Curry-Thompson-Green-Wiseman lineup would be fascinating to watch—that's two great scorers, two incredible defenders, and a rising youngster with sky-high ceiling!
