Golden State Warriors swingman Kelly Oubre Jr. was listed out on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Ahead of the game, head coach Steve Kerr shared the accident that led to Oubre's wrist injury.

Per Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Kerr shared that Oubre Jr. injured his wrist during a scrimmage at practice on Tuesday. Fortunately, Oubre did not suffer any serious repercussions. The Warriors have not yet listed him out on Thursday against the Phoenix Suns.

Oubre has been a key part of the Warriors' relative success this season. Though initially, the 25-year-old struggled to find his stroke as well as mesh into Kerr's system. So much so that he missed his first 31 shots through the first six weeks of the 2020-21 NBA season save dunks. In terms of 3-pointers, Oubre shot a horrendous 13 percent through the first 10 games.

However, all his struggles ended when he exploded for 40 points in the Warriors' 147-116 win over the Dallas Mavericks. And through the last 14 games, Oubre has been averaging 20.6 points on 50 percent shooting, as well as 43-percent from deep.

“Yeah, because when I was s—ty, I was just getting better each and every day,” Oubre said last week, per Monte Pool of NBC Sports. “I was in the gym, working out, working on my craft, adding tools to my bag.

“Godspeed, in due time, those tools will be able to blossom and show.”

Oubre's wrist injury certainly cut the momentum off the swingman's stellar performance. Fortunately, he won't be out for long. Warriors fans should expect to see Oubre back sooner than later.
