Willie Cauley-Stein has reportedly reached an agreement with the Golden State Warriors, according to Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.

The Sacramento Kings rescinded their qualifying offer to Cauley-Stein, making him an unrestricted free agent. Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports then confirmed the development.

Cauley-Stein was the sixth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He has career averages of 10.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 53.4 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from beyond the arc and 61.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Cauley-Stein is a good rim roller and runs the floor well for a big man. The Warriors can't expect the four-year veteran to command double-teams in the post since he doesn't have a polished post up game. However, Cauley-Stein can catch lobs at the rim and will be a nice backup to Kevon Looney.

Does this signing mean the Warriors won't bring back DeMarcus Cousins? It's hard to envision a scenario where Golden State has four big guys on the roster. Looney, Cauley-Stein and Damian Jones are there. Boogie is an unrestricted free agent.

The Warriors lost Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets, but they were able to acquire D'Angelo Russell in a sign-and-trade with Brooklyn. Maybe a change of scenery for Cauley-Stein will be the thing to jumpstart his NBA career.
