The Golden State Warriors have the assets and draft picks to make a blockbuster deal this offseason to sign a superstar. However, it's apparently unlikely this happens on draft night, according to Substack's Marc Stein:

“Are either one of those guys really in play at this draft? It's probably more Lillard than Beal at this point, but I just think the draft might come a step too soon for either one of those guys to be dealt,” Stein said.

The Warriors have the No.7 and 14 picks in next Thursday's draft and will undoubtedly add some terrific talent to their roster. With Klay Thompson also returning next season from a serious Achilles injury, Golden State is in a prime position to succeed.

However, this is the Warriors. They've had that dynasty feeling and if the team was able to bring in a player like Bradley Beal or Damian Lillard, it would surely put them right in the heart of title contention with Stephen Curry leading the way.

Beal hasn't requested a trade from the Wizards, but he's never really had the chance to win consistency in DC. Dame meanwhile has shut down rumors that he's interested in leaving the Blazers, despite the ongoing reports. It also seems highly unlikely he'd get moved while playing for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics.

Nevertheless, the Warriors still want a star. While nothing is out of the question when it comes to Golden State, any deal that could materialize will probably be after the 2021 NBA Draft, if ever.
