Much has been made of the current plans of Washington Football Team as the NFL trade deadline approaches. While WFT might actually be in the market for a new quarterback, it doesn't sound like Miami Dolphins star Tua Tagovailoa is going to be heading to the Capital anytime soon.
Previous reports suggested that Washington was in talks with the Dolphins in a potential Tagovailoa trade. These appear to be nothing more than unsubstantiated rumors, though (h/t Ben Standig of The Athletic):
Regarding the Twitter trade rumors, Washington is not in discussions with Miami or Houston regarding a QB trade, according to a source close to the situation.
Reminder: the trade deadline is Nov. 2. Deadlines create deals but nothing happening now if at all, apparently.

Tagovailoa has long been linked to a move away from Miami. Whispers recently became louder of late, with Washington being linked to a potential swoop for the 23-year-old QB.
For their part, the Dolphins have been rumored to be interested in bringing controversial Houston Texans star Deshaun Watson to Miami. If they do, this only means that the three-time Pro Bowler will take over the reins as the Dolphins' QB1. For Tagovailoa, a Watson trade will likely spell the end of his tenure with the Dolphins after just one full season.
Be that as it may, it doesn't look like Washington is interested in taking Tagovailoa. This does not necessarily mean, however, that WFT will not be pulling the trigger on a blockbuster deal before the deadline.
