The Miami Dolphins are in a state of despair just two weeks into the 2019 season. After being embarrassed by the cumulative score of 102-10 in their first two games, they are turning to Josh Rosen as the starting quarterback against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The second-year quarterback will receive his first start with the Dolphins since the team traded for him during this year's draft. What should we expect from Rosen in his debut with the Dolphins versus the Cowboys?

Over the first two weeks of the season, Ryan Fitzpatrick has gotten the luxury of starting for the Dolphins. As bad as Miami has been this year, the play from Fitzpatrick has been the worst aspect of the team.

The journeyman passer has combined for just 274 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions in the first two weeks. Furthermore, both games have gotten out of hand to the point where Rosen has been given reps at the end of each game.

In the limited amount of opportunities he's gotten, Rosen has completed just eight of his 21 attempts for 102 yards and two interceptions. Therefore, the expectations for the 22-year-old quarterback are low against the Cowboys. But he can't be any worse than Fitzpatrick, right?

Regardless of your opinion on Rosen, the UCLA product has been dealt an unfortunate hand in his first two seasons in the NFL. First, he gets drafted by an Arizona Cardinals team that traded him and fired the head coach after just one season together.

Along with the disorganization of the Cardinals, Rosen also played behind an abysmal offensive line that got him sacked 45 times. Now, he will get behind a Dolphins offensive line that no longer has Laremy Tunsil protecting his blind side.

Due to the offensive line and his own shortcomings, Rosen had just 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in his rookie campaign. The supporting cast around Rosen doesn't get any better in South Florida; just the weather does.

Additionally, Miami lacks an arsenal of weapons on offense to help a young quarterback thrive in the NFL. The leading rusher on the team is Kenyan Drake, who has just 10 carries for 31 yards. Also, his receiving corps is comprised of Preston Williams, Devante Parker, and Albert Wilson.

Considering all of that, expect Rosen to boast a stat line along the lines of 235 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. It may be a less-than-ideal debut with his new team, but the Dolphins have to see what they have.
