Dwight Howard has had a rollercoaster of an NBA career after demanding a trade from the Orlando Magic, having played the first eight seasons of his career with the franchise.

Now signed to a two-year deal with the Washington Wizards, the capital's new big man explained just how his career unfolded.

“I learned Magic for eight years. Went to La-La Land. Worked for a while with Rockets. Learned to fly with some Hawks. Got stung by the Hornets. And it all taught me how to be a Wizard,” said the charismatic big man in Monday's press conference, according to David Aldridge of NBA.com.

This answer is as Howard-esque as it gets, reflecting his usual humor in what has been a journeyman-like six seasons, playing for four teams during that span.

The 6-foot-11 center is now joining his sixth team, but is hoping he can remain here for the long run, potentially retiring a Wizard, now that he spent all those years learning Magic.

“I plan to be here until I retire,” said the big man before the end of his introductory press conference, according to Candace Buckner of The Washington Post. “This city, this team, is a place where I want to end my career.”

It's yet to be seen how long Howard can stick around with this team after lasting only one season with the Lakers, the Hawks, and the Hornets.

If he proves to be the athletic big man that John Wall had clamored for, there is no reason to think he couldn't spend the last few years of his NBA tenure in the nation's capital.
