Dwight Howard was recently clowned by Shaquille O'Neal after inviting him to compete in a roast battle. Social media blew up in the wake of Shaq's comments, but now Howard is looking to downplay their feud … at least to a certain extent.

“What’s going on between me and Shaq? I don’t know. I woke up and saw that he posted something about a roast they had against me,” Howard said during Wizards media day, per Kyle Schnitzer of the New York Post. “So, I decided to clap back. Obviously, he’s got some things he wants to get off his chest about me. I don’t have any personal issues with him.

“But if you do want to get to a roast, I can roast with the best of them. I’m ready. I’ve got some in the chamber, some jokes in the chamber. Let me say that so people don’t think I’m gonna do anything crazy. It’s all love. I don’t have anything against him. He came before me as a pioneer in the game for a lot of guys that play my position. But I’m not gonna be quiet.”

Clearly, Howard has a few tricks up his sleeve if Shaq should ever decide to take him up on his roast battle. But that being said, Howard reiterates that it's all love between the two even though they have been known to clap back at one another over social media.

A roast battle between Howard and O'Neal would be must-watch TV, but it would be hard to envision O'Neal losing. Talking about his rings always seems to be a trump card when NBA players go at it.
