John Wall of the Washington Wizards, a career 32.7 percent shooter from downtown, performs extraordinarily well against the Sacramento Kings.

As observed by Redditor u/TooDeepForTheIntro, Wall shoots at 52.4 percent from 3-point territory in a total of 14 games against the Kings. Last season, Wall even shot 9-of-10 from downtown in two games against them.

What's the reason behind this anomaly? Does Wall love playing with the Kings so much that he pumps up the ante whenever the Wizards go up against them?

A quick look at the statistics and a recall of the Kings' performance over the years would shed some light. Last season, they ranked 27th in defensive rating. They were one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

In addition, they gave up 11.9 three-pointers per game — which ranked 29th in the league last season. In terms of percentage, the Kings allowed their foes to shoot 37.7 percent from downtown which also ranked 29th last year.

In terms of overall performance, the Kings haven't made the playoffs since the 2005-06 season. And for the past few years, they haven't even come close to qualifying for the postseason.

So the reason behind Wall's excellent 3-point shooting against the Kings is simple. They just don't know how to play defense. So the next time the Wizards face the Kings, expect Wall to shoot it from deep whenever he gets a chance. And often times than not, his shot will swish the net.
