The Brooklyn Nets got away with some illegal sideline assistance during their Wednesday night contest against the Washington Wizards.

Nets assistant coach David Vanterpool reached out during a live play and deflected a pass intended for Kyle Kuzma. The ball ricocheted into the hands of Brooklyn's Kessler Edwards and sent the game the other way without a whistle or call.

All Kyle Kuzma could do was protest in anger which fell on deaf ears as the Wizards could not challenge the play. Understandably, he was the most upset about it during the postgame presser.

“That was also horses–t, too,” Kyle Kuzma said after the game. “Coaches should not be able to stand up. I get it if it's under two minutes. I mean, everybody in the league stands up for then. But there was like 3:50 on the clock, you're standing up and you got Steve Nash blocking the ref's view. Can't see s–t.”

“I don't know what else to say,” continued the Wizards star. “You know it's very unfortunate, but you just got to live with it. We had an opportunity at the end. I missed the shot, live or die with it. S–t happens.”

The transgression was made worse by the fact that the Wizards ended up losing the game by a single point. Washington will have a chance to bounce back from the loss against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.
