Washington Wizards superstar Russell Westbrook was beside himself after a Philadelphia 76ers fan appeared to have dumped a whole bucket of popcorn on him as he was on his way to the locker room. The former MVP had to exit Game 2 after an ankle injury and the home crowd at the Wells Fargo Center thought it was a smart idea to add insult to injury.

Brodie had to be restrained as he was pissed as hell:

First, why waste popcorn? It's 2021 and we're still wasting food?

Secondly, the Wizards were already down big in Game 2 so there was this was terribly uncalled for. I know that Westbrook has a knack for getting into it with the crowd but this fan definitely crossed the line.

NBA players deserve way more respect. I don't care if we're talking about a heated playoff match or a normal regular season game – fans shouldn't be allowed to treat these professionals athletes like this. I love the fact that people are now being allowed to watch the game as more and more vaccinated people go back to “new normal” but things like this make me miss the whole bubble set-up.

Come on, Philly fans. Do better.

The Sixers did end up winning inside the court with a huge 120-95 win against the visiting Wizards to take a commanding 2-0 lead in their first round match-up against Washington. Thanks to that rowdy fan, the Sixers might have to prepare themselves for a hostile welcome in DC for Game 3 on Saturday.
