With Money in the Bank mere weeks away, Vince McMahon is in the news for a different monetary transaction, as, according to multiple reports, the owner of WWE is under investigation for paying out over $3 million in hush-money payments related to an intra-office affair.

The news, initially broken by the Wall Street Journal but expanded upon by CNBC, details an investigation by the WWE Board of Directors in relation to a settlement between McMahon and a paralegal who formerly worked for the company. The agreement, which basically serves as an NDA, was agreed to by the two parties in order to prevent discussion of the affair or the leak of any disparaging/potentially damaging information about McMahon or the shop he runs in Stamford, Connecticut.

That's… certainly not something you read every day.

While CNBC reports that McMahon wasn't accused of harassment, and it was his personal money used to pay out the settlement, the board is cooperating with the investigation of their notoriously married owner, and the publicity it will certainly draw to the company in the middle of their most active period of the year.

This isn't the first such agreement made between McMahon and former employees, as, according to further clarifications from WSJ and CNBC, the WWE Board has uncovered even more, older agreements with former employees in relation to the CEO and John Laurinaitis, who is currently employed by The Fed as their general manager of talent evaluations.

Keep an eye on this story as it continues to develop, folks, as this appears to be the first news drop in what should be an incredible story both for WWE and the entire sports industry as a whole.
