The Boston Red Sox have upped the stakes in the AL East following their acquisition of Trevor Story in free agency on Sunday. The addition of Story will certainly give the Red Sox a better chance in what figures to be the most competitive division in baseball. New York Yankees star Aaron Judge wasn't too happy when he found out Story was heading to the Yankees' most-hated rivals and didn't hold back when reacting to the news.

Via Mark Feinsand, Judge admitted that he wasn't “too excited” about the Red Sox signing Story:

Clearly, Judge isn't too pleased about Story's landing spot, and it's particularly worrisome considering the Yankees still have some glaring questions at shortstop. The Yankees' biggest move this offseason has been to trade for an oft-injured and aging Josh Donaldson, alongside Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Those moves pale in comparison to the Red Sox's latest signing, and Judge didn't hide his disappointment that the team's biggest rival just got a whole lot better. Bringing Story to New York would have been a major coup for the Yankees, who instead sat back and watched as the middle infielder committed his future to Boston.

Still, Judge thinks the Yankees have what it takes to get through the gauntlet that will be the AL East in 2022, although his latest comments may not inspire the most confidence from fans with Opening Day looming in just a few weeks.
