Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine recently took part in some of the Team USA preparation ahead of the Rio Olympic Games. The two-time Slam Dunk contest winner took part in scrimmages and training session as part of the international set up.

While LaVine was happy to be part of it all, he seems to have his sights set on a more integral role in Team USA’s future.

Had a good experience @usabasketball. Looking forward to the 2020 Olympics in Japan after we get that gold in #Rio.

Posting from his Instagram account, LaVine made it clear that he feels he could be part of the next Olympic squad in the year 2020. When the next games do come around, LaVine will still only be twenty-four years old, meaning he will be closer to his prime than he is now when the team heads to Japan.

LaVine's confidence level is high, as not only is he putting himself forward as a future gold medal winner, but he seems as sure as many that USA will take home the gold this summer.

The former UCLA standout certainly has a right to believe he can develop to the elite level. He will be surrounded with talent for the next few years at least, as he is part of the young, exciting Timberwolves roster that includes Karl Anthony-Towns, Andrew Wiggins and newly drafted Kris Dunn.
