The Houston Texans have entered a rebuild and hope to make a splash in the 2022 NFL Draft. We'll likely see the front office build around Davis Mills, as they have a chance to stack the roster with great young talent. We'll see how it plays out, but this franchise could make some noise with the 13th overall pick in the draft this year.

There will be amazing talent available at the 13th overall pick for Houston. They can go in any direction though, as the roster has plenty of holes to fill. The ideal selection will be someone who can contribute from the jump, providing a boost of production for this franchise. Look for the Texans to make a splash pick with their second pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Depending on what the Texans do with the third pick overall will affect what they do with the 13th. Houston will have plenty of options at their disposal. We could see the front office choose a linebacker, a wide receiver, or a cornerback.

With that said, here are the three best options for the Texans' 13th overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Texans 2022 NFL Draft

3. Devin Lloyd

Devin Lloyd is arguably the best linebacker available in this year's draft class. He did everything for the Utah Utes, as he was the leader of that football team throughout his collegiate career. The Texans are lacking legitimate star power on the defensive side of the ball and Lloyd brings exactly that to the table.

Lloyd can do it all. He's great in run-stopping, pass-rushing, and coverage. Furthermore, he's a tackle machine who can fill in Zach Cunningham's shoes nicely. If Devin Lloyd is available at the 13 spot, look for the Texans to pull the trigger.

2. Jameson Williams

The Texans don't have the greatest wide receiver group. Having the 13th overall selection gives Houston the privilege to fix that problem. Brandin Cooks is a great receiver, but he needs help running routes. In comes Jameson Williams, who has the potential to be a star in the NFL.

Although Williams is coming off a serious injury, the kid has some serious potential. He is arguably the best receiver in this year's class and the only reason he isn't viewed that way is due to the injury. The Texans can make a fantastic splash pick by drafting Jameson Williams 13 overall.

1. Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner

Another stellar option for the Texans is Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner. He's made some noise throughout the offseason so far and this franchise would be smart to draft him. Gardner has been a shutdown cornerback throughout his collegiate career, as he's never allowed a touchdown scored on him.

That's the exact type of player the Texans need in the secondary. Houston was torched through the air last season and “Sauce” Gardner could fix a lot of pass coverage problems. It'll be interesting to see where he is selected, but he should be at the top of Houston's list of prospects with the 13th pick.
