Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is one of the more intriguing NFL players. He is a very good player on the field and people also love him off of it. Most know off the field Kelce once had a reality TV show called “Catching Kelce” where he was trying to find himself a girlfriend, but that is just the start of who Kelce is.

Let's break down four things you might not know about Kelce, but you need to.

4. Kelce was a high school quarterback

If Patrick Mahomes ever gets hurt and goes down, maybe Kelce can step up and take over for him. Kelce attended Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland Heights, Ohio where he was a standout quarterback.

He was a three-year letter winner under center and as a senior, he had over 2.500 total yards. In 2007, he had 31 total touchdowns with 10 of those coming with his legs.

After starting college with the Cincinnati Bearcats, he switched to tight end but would still get in at quarterback at times running the Wildcat.

3. Had character concerns coming into the NFL draft

Kelce admits that he was immature during high school and college and it probably cost him going higher in the draft.

Heading into the draft, one NFL evaluator said Kelce was a “trainwreck character-wise” and it would cause his draft stock to fall.

Kelce was suspended the entire 2010 college football season after breaking team rules on the eve of the Sugar Bowl. Kelce said going into the draft he was just going, to be honest, and try to prove to everyone that he was a high character guy.

“Just let them know that I’m a high-character guy,” Kelce said via CBS. “There’s stuff that’s happened in my past that’s happened. I’ve dealt with it. I’ve learned
from it and I’ve overcome everything that’s happened earlier in my college career. And to let them know who I am as a person, that I’m willing to do whatever the team needs me to do and I’m all for the organization as a whole.”

2. Didn't always love football

In high school, Kelce was a three-sport athlete, but he didn't always love football. Kelce enjoyed playing quarterback and being the focal point of the team, but said he didn't actually love the game until he switched to tight end.

Initially, when he switched positions he didn't look like most of the others, but he has helped usher in a new look tight end.

1. Only trusts one barber

Kelce has only gotten his haircut by one guy since the middle of high school. During high school, Kelce would leave early once a week to get his haircut by Quintana.

Even though he has moved from Ohio, Quintana is still his barber, and the only guy he trusts to cut his hair. Quintana is a closer personal friend of the family and often Kelce will fly him out to games.

When Kelce's younger brother Jason played in the Super Bowl with the Eagles, it was Quintana who was with the family most of the week.
