Richard Sherman limped off toward the end of the San Francisco 49ers' 20-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, adding injury to insult.

However, the cornerback says that won't stop him from playing in a highly anticipated battle with the New Orleans Saints in Week 14:

I’ll be ready,” Sherman said at the podium, via ProFootballTalk. “I appreciate it. I’m an old man. Sometimes it takes a second. I might not practice every day this week, but I’ll be ready to go Sunday.”

Sherman, 31, indicated that the injury is not anything to be worried about. Instead, it was merely wear and tear, which, with age, can make it a bit tougher to get up. Nonetheless, he did appear to be struggling after sustaining the injury.

It appeared as if Sherman twisted a knee. However, nothing on the matter is definite until official word breaks from the team. Practices, starting on Wednesday, will indicate if he plays on Sunday. He will likely be limited throughout initial practices.

Sherman is the 49ers' No. 1 cornerback. During Sunday's loss to the Ravens, he tallied seven combined tackles. Ultimately, however, his efforts weren't enough to halt Baltimore's high-powered attack.

Before entering Sunday's loss, Richard Sherman had allowed a measly 50.8 passer rating in coverage, per Pro-Football-Reference. A touchdown had not been scored on him for the entirety of the season, proving that, despite his age, he still has it. Last year — his first in San Francisco — he finished the season allowing a 105.3 passer rating in coverage.
