The Urban Meyer experiment is finally over for the Jacksonville Jaguars. After multiple off-the-field issues, lack of leadership, and overall poor coaching, the franchise parted ways with Meyer late Wednesday night. With the team now searching for a new leader, we go over our Jaguars' best head-coaching candidates.

Jacksonville will be advertising the head coaching gig similarly to last year. In that, the Jaguars have Trevor Lawrence, along with a handful of exciting young prospects. Additionally, the team has a ton of cap space and is plentiful with draft picks. It's still a highly sought-after job after the Urban Meyer debacle.

This organization will worry about hiring a new head coach once the season ends. They shouldn't rush the decision and instead, find the right hire. For a team that has endured so much struggle, it's time Shad Khan makes the right decision for once. With that said, here are the Jaguars' best head-coaching candidates.

Jaguars Best Head Coaching Candidates

5. Josh McDaniels

He didn't have much success with his first head coaching stint with the Denver Broncos, but Josh McDaniels seems to be ready once again. He's done a phenomenal job as the offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots and his name is mentioned nearly every year as a potential head coach candidate. He could be a good fit for the Jaguars.

McDaniels is an offensive guru and could succeed in Jacksonville. Having Trevor Lawrence wouldn't hurt either, as he'd have the pleasure of developing the Jaguars' young star. Look for Josh McDaniels' name to be thrown around the NFL rumor mill this offseason.

4. Raheem Morris

Raheem Morris has done an excellent job as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. He has a ton of coaching experience and even filled in as the interim head coach for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020. Morris would be a great leader for the Jaguars and seems like he'd be a great fit for this young roster.

3. Brian Daboll

Thanks to Brian Daboll, the Buffalo Bills have had one of the better offenses since 2018. He's credited for helping develop Josh Allen as well, which means he could do the same for Trevor Lawrence. Considering how young the Jaguars roster is, Daboll could be a great fit as he'll do his best to build the roster correctly.

2. Byron Leftwich

It would be a brilliant hire for the Jacksonville Jaguars if they brought in Byron Leftwich. He's been crushing it as an offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and understands what's necessary to coach a winning franchise.

Furthermore, it'd be a cool moment to see Leftwich return to Jacksonville as the head coach. He helped put the Jaguars on the map during his time as their starting quarterback. Additionally, he'd take some of the things he's seen from Tom Brady and teach them to Lawrence. There's a reason why many believe Byron Leftwich is the best possible coaching candidate for the Jaguars, as his potential is through the roof.

1. Eric Bieniemy

Eric Bieniemy's name has been involved in rumors for several years now, but he remains as the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator. Many in the NFL believe Bieniemy has the makings to be a great head coach, and he was a candidate for the Jaguars before they ultimately went with Urban Meyer in 2020.

Considering how many of the Chiefs players respect Bieniemy, this would be a magnificent hire for the Jaguars. He's been a part of a winning franchise for several years now and has had the privilege of coaching and developing Patrick Mahomes. Look for Eric Bieniemy to be involved in the rumor mill again, as he makes a ton of sense to be Jacksonville's next head coach.
