Some tremendously talented players have suited up for the Sacramento Kings since the franchise became a pro team all the way back in 1948.

Unfortunately, since the Kings have only captured one championship in franchise history, fans often forget about a few players who have donned the Sacramento uniform.

With that said, we take a look at the five best Kings players Sacramento fans may have forgotten about over the past few years.

1. Cliff Robinson

Cliff Robinson played 38 games for the Kings in 1981-82 when they were called the Kansas City Kings.

The New Jersey Nets traded Robinson to the Kings in 1981. Robinson averaged 20.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 45.5 percent from the field before getting dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers midway through the season.

2. Ron Boone

In 164 games with the Kings, Ron Boone put up 19.9 points, 3.6 boards and 4.0 assists. He also shot 46.0 percent from the floor and 84.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The franchise traded Boone to the Denver Nuggets on June 26, 1978. The Nuggets then sent him to the Los Angeles Lakers on the same day.

3. Rudy Gay

The Kings acquired Rudy Gay from the Toronto Raptors on December 9, 2013. The high-flyer played in 223 games with the franchise and averaged 19.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 46.4 percent overall and 34.7 percent from the 3-point line.

Gay's stint with the Kings ended in the summer of 2017 when the small forward signed with the San Antonio Spurs as an unrestricted free agent. The former UConn star tore his Achilles tendon during the 2016-17 season with Sacramento, but he has bounced back from it well with the Spurs.

4. Antoine Carr

The Kings acquired Antoine Carr from the Atlanta Hawks in 1990. The forward averaged 19.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 110 games with the franchise. Carr also shot an efficient 50.3 percent from the field.

However, the Kings eventually traded Carr to the Spurs after a season and a half.

5. Metta World Peace

The Indiana Pacers traded Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) to the Kings on January 25, 2006. The NBA enforcer wound up playing three seasons in Sacramento, compiling averages of 18.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

World Peace's run with the Kings ended in August of 2008 when the team traded him to the Houston Rockets before the start of the 2008-09 season.
