Twitter went crazy on Friday when it was announced that Max Holloway was out of his title fight against Alex Volkanovski at UFC 273. It seemed like everyone in the featherweight division was ready to step in and replace the Hawaiian.

There were many options for the UFC champion including Josh Emmett, Chan Sung Jung, Yair Rodriguez, and many others. It seems the champion now has his next opponent set.

Alex Volkanovski will be facing Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273 on April 9. The Korean Zombie was the featherweight champion's first choice and now he has the fight. The fight was first reported by MMA Journalist Ariel Helwani.

Chan Sung Jung appeared to be the favorite option for the fans as everyone on social media was hoping he would get the fight. The Korean Zombie was injured recently but it looks like he will be ready to go for April.

This is Chan Sung Jung's second title fight at featherweight. He first fought for the title against Jose Aldo at UFC 163 in 2013. Aldo won the fight by TKO in the fourth round of their contest.

Alex Volkanovski will have another fresh matchup after facing Brian Ortega at UFC 266 back in September. Many weren't too keen on him facing Max Holloway for the third time after the Australian won the first two fights.

UFC 273 is yet to have a location but it appears like Jacksonville, Florida might be the frontrunner. The card is still coming together with more fights expected to be added soon.
