Mark Hunt has been in a very public feud with the UFC for a few years now. The situation is quite complicated and a lot of it has to do with his fight with Brock Lesnar almost six years ago.

Mark Hunt has been a huge supporter of MMA fighters in Australia and New Zealand. That being said, his situation with the UFC has made it tough to watch and enjoy the sport.

“I support all the guys that I’ve helped train with and that helped me train to get where I was, I’ve tried my best to help all of those guys,” Hunt said on The MMA Hour when asked if he still watches MMA. “But I don’t like watching UFC or fighting in general, because I know what it’s like at the top. I know what they’re fighting for, which is nothing. They’re fighting for nothing. I’m the world champion of what? Explain to me what you’re the world champion of.”

Mark Hunt sees being a UFC champion as being nothing more than a farce. For him, the real world champions are in sports like boxing.

“If you’re the world champion of boxing, there’s reality. You have made it to the top, you don’t have to worry about money, don’t worry about nothing. There’s the goal to reach. Mount Everest. But in the UFC, you make it to the top, what do you get? Look at the champions. Don’t look at what I’m saying, look at the champions in the sport, what have they got? They’re sitting there complaining about money. You’re the world champion of nothing.”

It's a sad reality of the sport of MMA but fighter pay is going to continue to be a problem. Mark Hunt is currently doing what he thinks is right for UFC fighters going forward.
