Many players have been playing Battlefield 2042 since its early release for those who pre-ordered the more expensive bundles. But when is the game actually coming out for everyone else who bought the standard version? Here's when Battlefield 2042‘s release date is going to be.
Battlefield 2042 Release Date: November 19, 2021
Battlefield 2042 officially launches on November 19, 2021. The exact time for this in every region is as follows: Midnight Pacific, 3 AM Eastern, and 8 AM in the UK. This applies to everyone who purchased the Standard Edition.
Battlefield 2042 will be in epic proportions. It features 128 player gameplay for next-gen consoles, and for the first time in the series, cross-platform play. Open Beta impressions have been positive, although many have noted technical issues with the game's beta build – with bugs being a prominent complaint among those who participated. Meanwhile, the most epic new feature in Battlefield 2042 will be the new Portal Mode, which is like letting players make their own custom maps and scenarios for them to play with and share with the rest of the community.
Battlefield 2042 will also be the first game in the series not to have a single-player campaign. This will surely disappoint a lot of fans – but a vast majority of players are really just after the game's multiplayer offerings. Now, if only DICE could bring back Bad Company, then we'll all be satisfied.
Battlefield 2042 Early Access Unlock Timing
Those who purchase Battlefield 2042 Gold Edition or Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition get to play the game a week ahead of everyone else. Anyone subscribed to EA Play Pro will also get to play earlier than the others. Battlefield 2042 Early Access comes online on November 12, 2021, at the same timings as mentioned earlier. That is 12 midnight Pacific, 3 AM Eastern, and 8 AM in the UK.
There are also other bonuses included in the Gold Edition and Ultimate Edition apart from the early access, of course. The Gold Edition gives you the Year One pass: four new specialists, four battle passes, three Epic skin bundles. Meanwhile, the Ultimate Edition unlocks the “Midnight Ultimate Bundle,” the official digital artbook, and the game's digital soundtrack.
Meanwhile, there's also a pre-order bonus, even for those who are just getting the Standard Edition. These are the Irish – Battle Hardened Legendary skin, Baku ACB-90 Epic melee, “Mr Chompy” Epic weapon charm, the “Landfall” player card background and the “Old Guard” tag.
Battlefield 2042 impressions have been coming up ever since the game's Open Beta sessions in the previous months. Reviews will also start trickling down over the next couple of days as reviewers get to play the game early.
