The Cincinnati Bengals tried to pull off a trick play in the fourth quarter of Monday night's meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but their plan blew up in their faces when wide receiver Tyler Boyd's pass was intercepted. Peyton Manning, covering the game on ESPN's Manningcast, was not at all pleased when he saw Cincinnati's botched play.

“What are we doing? Why are they not letting Browning throw? My mic just fell off,” the Pro Football Hall of Famer signal-caller said during the broadcast. “Browning hasn’t thrown an incompletion and we have two receivers throwing passes. One throws a back shoulder to Browning and this guy throws it right to the D-lineman.”

That wasn't even the only non-QB throw for the Bengals in the Jags game, as wideout Ja'Marr Chase also attempted a pass.

Fortunately for the Bengals, that embarrassing moment with Boyd and some questionable play-calling did not ultimately cost them the game, as Cincinnati, behind the strong performance of an actual quarterback in Jake Browning, outlasted the Jaguars in overtime for a 34-31 victory.

Browning introduced himself to the national audience by going 32-for-37 for 354 passing yards and a touchdown. He avoided getting intercepted and had zero turnovers throughout the contest that many Bengals fans will remember as being the “Jake Browning Game.”

The win over the Jags snapped Cincinnati's three-game losing skid and improved the team's record to 6-6.

Browning and the Bengals will next take on the Indianapolis Colts when they fly back home for a Week 14 outing.
