The Buffalo Bills got into a tight encounter and suffered a narrow 34-31 defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans for Week 6 action. Head coach Sean McDermott and his men tried their best to hang around but their opponents proved to be too much for them to handle. In this post, we're specifically looking at our Bills Week 6 takeaways from their stunning lost to the Titans.

With the loss, the Bills dropped to a 4-2 record but maintained their grip on the top spot in the AFC East. The team can certainly learn a lot from the game as they still have to work on their errors in order to have better outings in the weeks to come. They will aim to get back on the win column when they host the Miami Dolphins for Week 7 proceedings.

Here are our Bills Week 6 takeaways following the loss to the Titans.

Bills Week 6 Takeaways

3. Cole Beasley remains to play a key role for the Bills' offense.

Heading to the season, wide receiver Cole Beasley already voiced his strong reluctance to take the COVID-19 vaccine. It was followed by his lack of involvement within the Bills' offense to start the season, which was a huge surprise to many. Afterward, he also made an abrupt move to delete his Twitter account after their Week 5 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

In Week 6 against the Titans, Beasley finally broke out with 88 yards on seven catches to go with a touchdown for the Bills. His presence as a threat on offense helped his team to remain in contention until the end of the game. Despite his lack of production over their previous games, Beasley's involvement on Monday night showed that he remains to be a key player for the Bills' offense this season.

Hopefully, the 32-year-old will be able to regain his momentum and continue to show out with more consistent performances for the Bills in the weeks to come.

2. Buffalo's offensive line is still a work in progress.

Quarterback Josh Allen has been on fire to start the season but the offensive line failed to deliver in their Week 6 game against the Titans. The Bills' unorganized offense in the first half was due to the line's poor play which eventually allowed their opponents to hang around in the game.

Allen was also sacked thrice by Titans defenders which showed that the line wasn't able to offer sufficient pass protection to their quarterback. Perhaps the biggest error for the offensive line was when Allen tried to sneak it in on fourth-down before he was contained by the Titans who ran away with the win.

Certainly enough, a good quarterback like Allen will also need an offensive line that can consistently protect him on the field. Maybe it was an off night for the Bills linemen but they definitely have to perform and allow their quarterback to properly orchestrate their offense moving forward.

1. The Bills' defense was exposed by Derrick Henry.

Heading to their matchup, defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier tried to shake things up by scratching pass-rushers AJ Epenesa and Boogie Basham and playing bigger linemen in Harrison Phillips and Efe Obada against the Titans instead.

From their move, it was clear that the priority of the Bills defense is to contain star RB Derrick Henry but they failed to do so. The two-time Pro Bowler ran all over the field and generated 143 yards on 20 carries to go with three touchdowns for the Titans. Aside from Henry, the Titans' offensive line also did a good job of protecting QB Ryan Tannehill who was untouchable on Monday night as he threw 216 yards on 18-of-29 attempts for a 34-31 win.

Given the depth on their roster, the Bills' defense can certainly do so much better than how they performed against the Titans. Frazier and his men simply can't rely on their offense to carry the entire team as they also need to perform and ensure that they get to limit the opposing players on the field. Being able to do so will surely put the Bills in a greater position to succeed and win more games moving forward.
