On March 8, 2021, the Brooklyn Nets signed Blake Griffin after he was bought out from the Detroit Pistons. After Griffin left the Los Angeles Clippers, the suddenly stacked duo of Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin had NBA teams in fear. Unfortunately, it didn't work out and the Pistons saw the end of the road for their experiment.

Now, Griffin has suddenly revitalized his career with the Nets and has turned into a legitimate starter on a team with NBA title aspirations– and the odds-on favorite to walk away with the championship. In Brooklyn Griffin has become a solid piece of their rotation, especially with the retirement of LaMarcus Aldridge and injuries to James Harden and Jeff Green.

Griffin has found his hops and dunked more than he did in his time in Detroit, and he has even added a decent three-point shot to his repertoire. Oh, and there was this poster on Giannis Antetokounmpo.

At the time of the signing, it didn't feel as if adding Griffin was a needle-mover. But now with their roster changes over the past couple of months, Griffin is suddenly playing a key role down the stretch. In the first round series against the Boston Celtics, Griffin failed to eclipse 25 minutes in any of the games.

However, now Griffin has played 35 minutes, 25 minutes, and then 30 minutes in Game 3 in the Nets' loss to the Bucks in Milwaukee. Griffin had 18 points with 14 rebounds in Game 1 and hit four three-pointers.

Griffin is hustling, grinding, and scrapping it out every game in earnest desire for an NBA title.

Griffin knows his role and has absolutely bought into his fit with the Nets. With the status of both Jeff Green and Harden in flux, Griffin will need to continue to play at a high level if the Nets want to bring home the NBA title.

On the other hand, the Pistons can't be too thrilled about how Griffin has turned out with the Nets. Either way, there is a huge chance that the Nets and Blake Griffin take home the NBA title when July rolls around.
