Jusuf Nurkic is back out there on the court eating people alive. Showing that he’s fully recovered from a leg injury that prematurely ended his 2016-17 campaign, Nurkic participated in the Portland Trail Blazers’ preseason game against the Phoenix Suns Tuesday.

The contest is still ongoing as of this writing, but Nurkic already has 16 points on an efficient 8-for-13 shooting. He’s worked hard in the offseason to cut down his weight to be in the best shape of his NBA career, and by the looks of how he’s manhandling his defenders on the block, it’s a fair assessment to say that Nurkic is in line for a fantastic season.

In one play, Nurkic played sweet chemistry with Damian Lillard on a high pick-and-roll play and finished it by yamming the ball right in the face of Suns forward Marquese Chriss.

In another sequence, Nurkic showed he’s newfound mobility with a sleek spin move at the post to create separation between him and a hapless Dragan Bender, who was left struggling to find his footing.

Jusuf Nurkic is expected to be the Blazers' starting center next season. He put up 10.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in 65 total games last campaign.
