Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard is enjoying being part of Carmelo Anthony's resurgence.

Lillard, one of Anthony's biggest supporters, thought it was wrong how Melo “was kind of almost pushed out of the league.”

That's why Dame is so happy to see Anthony playing well for the Blazers and getting his respect back.

“The way that he was kind of almost pushed out of the league, I thought that was wrong,” Lillard said, via Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com.

“So the fact that he’s come back and he’s on our team now, it’s a great opportunity for us to be a part of his bounce back, a great story for a Hall of Fame player. And then he gets here and your respect for him as a person makes that even more important. He didn’t come in and you can tell he’s not trying to walk on eggshells and be a certain person so it works out, he’s like naturally been himself. I respect it.”

The Blazers are 3-3 since signing Anthony. Portland is 8-12 on the season entering its Tuesday matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

Anthony is averaging 17.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists in six games with the Blazers. He's shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.
