The Portland Trail Blazers' investigation into new head coach Chauncey Billups' 1997 rape allegations continues to take a truly bizarre path. This time around, the Blazers are now under fire after the lead investigator they hired to review Billups' case has been linked to pornographic tweets from his own Twitter account.

In a report posted by Sophie Peel of Willamette Week, it was revealed that the Blazers organization recently decided to cut ties with private investigator David Hallman and his security firm Adler Group after they learned of Hallman's inappropriate activity on social media.

According to a shocking exposé on Reddit, Hallman re-tweeded pornographic images on his own Twitter account. Hallman has now locked his account, but users were able to take screenshots of the tweet in question.

The Blazers have acknowledged the incident and confirmed in a statement that they have since fired Hallman:

“Though the Trail Blazers have used the Adler Group for the past 11 years, we were recently made aware of inappropriate content on the personal twitter page of the principal of the Adler Group. The content of the twitter page is completely unacceptable and is counter to what we stand for as an organization. As a result, we will no longer be using their services.”

The fact that the lead investigator in Billups' case has himself been linked to inappropriately lewd activity on Twitter has to put the entire investigation into question. The Blazers have already been accused of not undergoing the proper process in their review of Billups' sexual harassment allegations, and this recent development only makes the optics much worse.
