The Portland Trail Blazers are currently in a big trouble. Head coach Terry Stotts and his team now trail the defending champion Golden State Warriors 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals, placing Portland on the verge of elimination.

Coming as absolutely no surprise, it appears as though the Warriors' championship pedigree has just simply been too much for the Blazers to handle — even in the absence of superstar forward Kevin Durant.

The Trail Blazers aren't done just yet, though. If Portland can win a game at home, perhaps Stotts and his squad will still have a fighting chance. After all, the absences of Durant and center DeMarcus Cousins are obviously a huge blow to the team.

“We’re going to give it our best effort on Monday. I mean, that’s all that matters, is we give it our best effort. We give it everything we have on Monday, and whatever happens, happens,” Stotts said after their Game 3 loss, per Tom Webber of Sporting News.

“But that’s [about] having the pride and professionalism to give it the best effort and to get a home win, and then go from there. I don’t know if it’s as much about strategy as about just rallying around and giving it the best effort possible.”

Even though the Warriors currently lead the Blazers, Portland has remained competitive throughout the series. However, the Rip City team hasn't been able to close out games like they did in the first two rounds. Golden State could potentially win four titles in five seasons if all goes according to plan.
