As of now, the Portland Trail Blazers have no plans to sign a player to replace Pau Gasol, who is being waived, according to Jason Quick of The Athletic.

The Blazers will carry 14 players moving forward after signing Carmelo Anthony.

After making it to the Western Conference Finals last season, the Blazers have started the 2019-20 campaign very slow. Following their loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, Portland dropped to 5-10 and to the 14th spot in the Western Conference standings.

There's still a lot of time left in the season for Portland to turn things around. The hope is that once superstar point guard Damian Lillard comes back, he and CJ McCollum can develop a rapport quickly with Anthony and start winning games together.

The one thing you can't do in the West is get too far back in the playoff picture since the conference is so competitive and rugged. As is the case every season, the Blazers will ultimately go as far as Lillard and McCollum can take them.
